The Mycenaean Civilisation was prominent between the years 1600- 1100BC. Mycenae, on mainland Greece, was home to the famous gold burial mask of Agamemnon. The entire civilisation is largely known for the Trojan War; the battle between the Greeks and Trojans after Paris abducted Menelaus’s wife, Helen. The Trojan war symbolises how this civilisation so heavily focused on warfare; heroes, armour, weapons, and chariots were commonly depicted in their art.
