Livia Drusilla was the wife of Augustus, and was the first Empress of Rome. She was born in 58 BC and died in 29 AD, fifteen years after the death of her husband. After his death, she became known as Julia Augusta, and their son Tiberius (whose father was actually Tiberius Claudius Nero, but Augustus had forced the couple to divorce, and him adopt Tiberius)endured heavy influence from her as he became the second Roman Emperor. However, this influence was received as unwelcoming by him, and when he left Rome, he did not even return for his mother’s funeral in 29 AD.
